Heads Up! NLRB Kentucky River on Comedy Central

by James Parks, Jul 19, 2006

Eddie Acosta on the AFL-CIO Voice@Work staff reports Stephen Colbert of “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central dedicated his “The Word” segment to a satirical look at the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB’s) pending Kentucky River decisions that could mean up to 8 million workers no longer will have the federally protected right to form a union. Union members and allies took part in a national week of action last week to urge the NLRB to protect workers’ freedom to form a union.

Describing the Comedy Central segment, Acosta says:

In his ironic, sharp, witty way, he tore a hole into the NLRB’s pending attack on U.S. workers. At one point, he had an article from one of our actions as background.

You can watch a repeat of the show today on Comedy Central at 2:30 p.m. EST or tonight at 8:30 p.m. Or click here to see a video of the segment.
