Tell Comcast to Treat Workers with Respect!

You can take action now to tell Comcast to treat its workers with dignity.

Comcast has a long history of firing, harassing and discriminating against union-represented workers—a history detailed in a study, No Bargain: Comcast and the Future of Workers’ Rights in Telecommunications, by the worker advocacy and research group American Rights at Work

Last January, Comcast fired Will Goodo, a longtime employee who is not represented by a union, after he testified before the Oakland (Calif.) City Council and at a Workers’ Rights Board hearing on Comcast’s violations of workers’ rights. Goodo also is a leader in the effort by Comcast employees to form a union with the Communications Workers of America (CWA).

The company asserts Goodo was fired after a customer complaint—but there’s evidence the customer in question never actually complained about him at all.

Recently, a National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) regional director found Comcast “apparently lied,” “gave a false explanation for” and “fabricated” its reasons for investigating Goodo. But the director also decided Goodo was not fired for union activity. CWA is appealing that ruling.

If you’re a Comcast customer, you can help Will Goodo get his job back. Tell Arthur Block, Comcast’s secretary and general counsel, to reinstate Will and pay him the wages he has lost since his firing last January.
