The United Steelworkers (USW) union has reached a tentative contract agreement with Bridgestone/Firestone Co. covering workers at six plants.

Details of the agreement were not released by the union, but USW Executive Vice President Ron Hoover says it follows “the pattern established in the BF Goodrich and Goodyear contracts.”

Ratification votes will be completed by April 25 among workers at the plants in Akron, Ohio; Noblesville, Ind.; Des Moines, Iowa; Russellville, Ark.; La Vergne, Tenn., and Oklahoma City.  Workers in the Warren County, Tenn., and Bloomington, Ind., plants are considering separate contract offers, USW says.
