Workers Tell Their Stories Through UAW Campaign |

Crosby, Rice, Linko or Fairchild, all UAW members, are featured in a new UAW-sponsored Internet and TV advertising campaign.
The ad campaign, launched in mid-December, highlights the union’s new interactive website, IAmtheUAW.org, which encourages UAW members, family, friends and supporters (including friends in other unions) to tell their stories and submit photos, podcasts and videos to the site.
Says UAW President Ron Gettelfinger:
This is a great opportunity to showcase our members and the contribution our union makes to our communities and workplaces. Nobody represents our organization better than our own members. The website features audio, photo and video-sharing technology.
“Communication today is a two-way street,” Gettelfinger says.
With an interactive website, we can help our members share real stories about who we are and what we have accomplished, with each other, with friends and neighbors and with the broader public.
Rice, a member of UAW Local 898 in Rawsonville, Mich., says she was thrilled to help our union communicate with our friends and neighbors.
My UAW family is so important to me. And the contributions we are able to make, as a union, to our community, are a great source of pride for all of us.
In addition to viewing at www.IamtheUAW.org, the ads will also run on broadcast and cable TV in Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville and Jackson, Miss.
