Bush Legacy: Homeless Children

Can’t sleep? You’re not alone. An unbelievable nine of 10 U.S. workers are losing sleep over their financial worries, according to a new study released this week.

No wonder. It seems some 30 percent of working families with children earn less than the cost of the basic elements of a decent, no-frills living standard in the area where they live, according to new data by the nonprofit Economic Policy Institute (EPI).

Too bad no one thought to survey some children. It seems more and more of America’s children are homeless. In wealthy Fairfax County outside Washington, D.C., which in recent years boasted one of the nation’s highest average income levels, homelessness among students is up about 25 percent from last year, and last year’s figures were an increase from the year before, according to First Focus, a Washington, D.C.-based nonpartisan group. As ABC News writes:

“Kids in greater number are coming to school who probably haven’t eaten breakfast. Who don’t have access to a washer and a dryer. Who live with fear,” explains Karen Fessler, a school official in Cincinnati, Ohio. “How important is a long-division problem when they don’t know where they’re going to sleep tonight?”

In recent months, the media has asked Bush about how he views his legacy—our future.

They should visit a few homeless shelters. And ask the children.

Re: Proof the Democratic Party ALWAYS creates more jobs

I know you are Democrats (as am I) but I do not know that you know that there is UNDISPUTED PROOF THAT DEMOCRATIC PARTY PRESIDENTS HAVE ALWAYS CREATED MORE JOBS THAN REPUBLICAN PARTY PRESIDENTS.

And I do not believe the American public knows this. If it is not too late, only 5 days before the election, please “get out the word”.

For you, I point out some evidence and examples, below which are backed up by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and shown graphically on http://www.waggonerpost.com.

    1. LAST 75 YEARS. Of the 12 Presidents since 1933, 6 were Democrats and 6 were Republicans. The 6 BEST were the 6 Democrats. The 6 WORST were the 6 Republicans
    2. LAST 60 YEARS. Over past 60 years, Democratic Party Presidents have beaten Republican Party Presidents MORE THAN 2 to 1 (188,000 monthly versus 89,999 monthly). Democrats average a 48,000 monthly surplus, and Republicans average a 51,000 deficit (takes about 140,000 monthly to keep up with population growth).
    3. LAST 19 YEARS. Of the last 3 Presidents, both Bushes averaged 54,000 jobs monthly. In between them, Clinton averaged 237,000 monthly.

You can see the information on http://www.waggonerpost.com, in charts and graphs, as indicated below:

    1. “Table” showing the 6 best Presidents in past 75 years have been the 6 Democrats, and the 6 worst have been the 6 Republicans
    2. Bar graph- (past 75 years) showing
    a. EVERY time we switched parties (in white house) job production increased when D went in, and decreased when R went into the white house
    3. Bar graph (past 60 years) showing
    a. D Presidents average 188,000 monthly
    b. R Presidents averaged 89,000 monthly (almost 100,000 per month average)
    c. IF it now takes 140,000 jobs to keep up with population growth (which is what some experts day), D have, in past 60 years, have averaged a surplus above that (of about 48,000 monthly , and Republicans have averaged a deficit below that (of about 51,000 monthly).
    4. Bar graph re Bush-Clinton-Bush-showing
    a. Both Bushes averaged 54,000 jobs monthly
    b. Clinton averaged 237,000 jobs monthly
    c. Line showing that if it takes 140,000 monthly to keep up with population growth (which is what some experts say), the Bushes averaged a monthly deficit of about 86,000 jobs monthly, and the Democrat, Clinton, averaged a monthly surplus of about 97,000 monthly, a difference between the two parties of about 183,000 monthly. It is difficult to fathom a 183,000 monthly difference. The public should know this, shouldn’t they?

The huge differences in job creation are obviously the natural consequence of the policies of the two parties, and not the result of some “accident”.

If you want to check the math and concepts out with a Ph.D who is Department Head of the “Accounting, Finance and Economics” at a University, I can give you that information..

Out in the grassroots, workers are mighty angry at the thought their health care benefits could be taxed in a health care reform plan.
