AFM, Sarasota Orchestra: Tense negotiations continue between the Sarasota Orchestra and the Sarasota Orchestra Players’ Association (SOPA-AFM). The musicians’ contract expired Aug. 31, and they are currently working under the terms of the orchestra’s final offer.
UFCW, King Sooper’s and Safeway: Members of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 7 Bargaining Committee are reviewing the last, best and final offer by King Sooper’s and Safeway supermarkets. IUE-CWA, Behr Dayton Thermal: Workers at auto products plant Behr Dayton Thermal in Ohio will have to make difficult decisions regarding pay and benefit cuts in order to keep the plant from closing, according to IUE-CWA officials.
