Traffic Controllers Take the Stress Out of Holiday Travel
Want to know the best times to travel to avoid delays during the holidays? Who better to ask than the nation’s air traffic controllers?
In order to make holiday air travel less stressful, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) has set up a website, http://www.avoiddelays.com, that offers advice to the flying public. From the best time to fly to the best airports to connect through and the top 10 worst times to fly, the site is helpful to those who have already booked a ticket and those who have not yet done so.
The site allows travelers to plan ahead. Here’s a tip from the site: Between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., Philadelphia International Airport has the most delays of any airport, and flights from there are late nearly 90 percent of the time.
Using data from the Department of Transportation, NATCA makes the information easily accessible and understandable. The site even offers a section with advice for travelers from air traffic controllers on the best times to fly, the best terminals to fly into and how to get to and from the airport.
Check out the site here and have a happy, safe and less-stressful holiday.
