Republican Health Care Stall Means Higher Health Costs |

The longer that congressional Republicans roadblock health care reform, the more it is going cost the American people–and the bigger the bite health care costs will take out of a reeling economy.
A new poll by Buck Consultants shows that costs for all type of plans–from PPO’s to high deductible plans–will jump by 10 percent to 11 percent this year. As the health care blog, Health Populi writes:
The double-digit cost increases that Buck Consultants expect are over twice the rate of general inflation in the U.S. expected in 2010. Thus, the marketplace isn’t nearly moderating health costs on its own without the influence of health reform.
Buck Consultant’s 21st National Health Care Trend Survey was conducted among 108 insurance organizations in the second half of 2009. Plans included Aetna, CIGNA, Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans, Kaiser Permanente, United HealthCare, and other plans. The plans surveyed represent 78.2 million covered consumers.

The two corrupt and expensive “health care” bills would only benefit insurance companies and other special interest groups. They would not benefit union members or the poor.
In order to reduce costs and improve the system you must:
Reduce frivolous lawsuits.
Reduce fraud.
Allow health insurance to compete across state lines.
Encourage a healthy life.
Fund walk in clinics & free health care for the needy.
Increase funding to hospitals.
These savings and improvements are simple, cost effective and popular.
Of course your 108 insurance organizations will not tell you that. They want to get the most money they can.
Then after the barriers are broken down between the states, it is time that the unions ban together and form their own insurance plan, owned by the unions, run by the unions and cover all the unions with affordable rates and complete physical and mental health coverage. It would be advantagous for the unions to do this as it would not only decrease the cost for it members but also for their employers. It might even encourage more businesses to accept unionzation of their businesses because it would decrease their insurance costs and save them money also, which could in turn be used to pay their employees more and also increase their profits too.
The biggest concern is the $500 billion cut in Medicare. This is a huge concern.
There is funding for abortions and insufficient controls with illegal immigrants receiving health care.
All this was behind close doors. Why not televise the debate for health care reform on C-SPAN?
There is the rationing of health care and death panels.
Surely we can do better than this!

The cuts being made to Medicare are the subsidies paid to the insurance companies.
Also, you need to check your facts because they are incorrect.
There is NO funding for abortions or illegal immigrants. There is no rationing of health care or death panels.

The only death panels and rationing are the present ones administrated by your insurance company.
One more point – Scott Brown got elected to the Senate because Martha Coakley was inept at running an effective political campaign.
The reason most republicans don’t want health care is because republicans only think of themselves or you could use reverse psychology on them to let them think it was there idea then we could get something passed, they never agree with anything the Democrats come up with. Let them think thev’e come up with what wev’e already wanted and let them think it was there idea and we all win.
Bush did nothing but distroy America for 8 years and Obama is exprcted to fix it over night, I will also admit Obama is trying to do to much to fast the american people are use to seeing the Republicans doing nothing then reelecting them for it . I don’t know where your from but the union members I associate with does care about the unfortunate people that can’t manage to get health care. I had a best friend self employed that was involved in a motorcycle accident with no health care just couldn’t afford it, he ended up parallized stuck away in a nursing home until he died a year latter. Now there was a Fireman in my home town that fell out of a tree stand deer hunting with the exact same injury and I mean exact same injury just about the same time by buddy had his accident but he had insurance and was sent to St. Louis where they work and worked with him thereapy ect. ect. and he’s walking today.If that Firefighter would not have had insurance he to would have been stuck away in a nursing home. But most people thats got insuranmce don’t really care about the ones that don’t . I would be more than happy to pay a little more in taxes and have my best friend here today along with the millions of other people I don’t know.

jsutice you are so wrong on so many points I don’t know where to start. You need to get off the RNC & Faux News teet. We would have had healthcare reform if the Republicans didn’t stall it in 1994. Many of us have waited nearly 17 years to get another chance. Republicans controlled congress and ignored the problem for 14 years they ruled. Yes, I would call Republicans bad people for allowing this to happen. 44,000 people die every year due to lack of healthcare. That’s about a half-million that might have lived if healthcare would have been reformed. Republicans are the party of “No”. Tell me one bill the passed that helped the middle class. As far as the long great run under Bush- workers actually lost ground- wages failed to keep up with inflation and, his tax cuts targeted the wealthy- the average worker got a $19 tax cut. A millionaire got $50,000. Republicans aren’t happy unless they are dividing people into classes of who is worthy and who is not, the haves, and the have-nots. Two Bush tax cuts and deficit spending couldn’t keep him afloat, he had to borrow money from Red China for two stimulus checks to prop up his outsourcing arse. Main street needed a raise and some job protections- not a one-time handout. So much for supply-side economic theories.

What we should be offering is an Organize America plan to offer the entire country the benefits that I enjoy through my Laborer’s Health Trust. When there are 65% Union workers the entire country will be much better off.
The silly idea of allowing insurance to be sold across state lines is a total whack. There must be a real accounting for the actuarial costs in differing markets. Profits are to be encouraged but Profiteering must never be condoned.
Lastly as someone who is very amply insured by my health trust I see the HUGE discounts that my preferred provider offers my insurance company. It seems unconscionable to me that the cash customer who incurs no billing fees associated collections costs should be expected to pay such multiples of billing sometimes as much as 300% more than my insurance company pays. Whatever the lowest negotiated price may be That should become the cash on the barrel head price. Lets make health care affordable not just insurance. Cash should be the cheapest price!
