The AHIP folks couldn't care less and neither will the national media. When will the AFL-CIO match its actions to its rhetoric? Millions of American workers have already slipped into permanent unemployment and poverty and millions more will soon join them. Once that happens, the union movement will be nearing extinction. It is now time to organize a massive march on Washington with the help of the Teamsters and Service Workers, and community and pro-labor political organizations. If that doesn't work, organize a general strike. If the AFL-CIO hasn't got the guts to do either of those things it doesn't deserve to exist. The rally is only a nuisance to the local police.
