Walker Spent $42,000 in Taxpayer Cash on Plane Trips

by Mike Hall, Mar 28, 2011

Even as he tried to balance the budget on the backs of working families, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) has been spending tens of thousands of dollars to fly around the state on a taxpayer-funded plane. A Freedom of Information Act inquiry by the National Education Association (NEA) revealed today that since January, Walker spent $41,935 on the use of state planes for trips around the state.

This revelation should make Walker even more unpopular with Badger State voters than he already is—in fact, his poll numbers have plummeted so badly, even among independents, that national Republican strategists are worried.

Writing on Tucker Carlson’s The Daily Caller website, Heather Huggins of the conservative group Independent Women’s Voice says:

The recent fight has cost Republicans support, strengthened unions, polarized the issue, and swung critical independents, who were essential to the Republicans’ 2010 electoral victory, toward sympathizing with the unions….Independents now largely lock arms with the union members and protesters.

I dont understand why Gov Walker hasnt been arrested and thrown in jail by now. If anyone else did what his doing by ignoring the Judges stay that person would be held in contempt of the court. This gives even more reason to recall along with his using airplanes to travel around. Keep mounting the reasons for his recall and press it, if you want to survive.

Once again how can someone be in contempt of court, if they haven’t violated any order:) Are you to a teacher? Ah must be.. That explains it..
I think all the teachers should take up a collection if that 41,935 is so important!! Oh thats right Doyle is no longer Governer.. See the governer wouldn’t have to go all over the state the facts to the residents of the state, if the facts weren’t being misrepresented by the media and ignorant union members in this State!! Oh isn’t real Hope and change awesome!! :)

“See the governer wouldn’t have to go all over the state the facts to the residents of the state”

Are you saying that Gov Walker could not effectively state facts any other way than spending this money? You are a fool to believe that. You should contact a teacher since your inability to spell the word “governor” is making you look very STUPID.

Your sentence appears to be written by a 3rd grader,
“See the governer wouldn’t have to go all over the state the facts to the residents of the state” What does this mean?
You should be supporting the teachers, you desperately need one.

      Can you say SPELL CHECK?

This reply id for tommy4bush, the wisconsin appeals court judge ordered that the Anti-Collective Bargaining law not be published until he was able to review the legalities! Governor Walker, and the Speaker of the State House, and the President of the State Senate ordered the state web master to publish the law so as to put the law into effect. This even though the judge had ordered otherwise. Now the law has to go to the State Supreme Court to determine if it is valid, and to determine if it indeed went into effect beace of being published online. The publishing of the law was discussed by Walker, and both Fitzgerald’s. This discussion is in fact collusion! This makes the publishing of the law over the oders of a judge as collusion, and conspiracy, to violate a legal court order! Chew on that you socialist dog!

Yes, cuddlebaer Walker and his two Fitzgerald co-lawbreakers are not only in contempt of court but they violated a state law. The law says that the Secretary of State is the only elected official who has the right to publish that law and he is the one under court order not to publish the law until it is reviewed as to it’s constitutionality. He says because they by passed him and published the law anyway it cannot be enforced becaue it is not legal. These Republicans do not seem to believe in what they preach. How many times have we heard them screaming on tv about the rule of law? I guess they only believe in it if it is some thing they want or it benefits them. And now for tommy4bush If I were you I wouldn’t let anyone know that I supported a criminal. Did you not hear that Bush cancelled a vacation recently because he is wanted as a war criminal in the country in which he had planned to vacation? Guess you make a habit of supporting law breakers. As for teachers let me tell you they earn every penny they make. The news reported the other night that a student had slapped a teacher. In what other occupation can you work and be slapped and not be able to defend yourself by slapping back? Teachers cannot lay a hand on your little darlings no matter what they do to them. There is not enough money to pay me to walk into a classroom in todays society. They must have earned every penny they were paid to try to educate you if your posting is any indication of your ability to learn.Teachers are not the only ones in this fight that will be harmed. Firefighters, policemen and nurses are also under attack. Guess you nor any member of your family doesn’t or never will need any of their services either. If I were them I would give you the same support you are giving them if you EVER do need their services.By the way what are you doing on this site if you are not a union member? Let me let you in on a little secret union members are NOT ignorant but it’s too bad we can’t say the same about Republican trolls.Yes the HOPE that every Republican in office anywhere will be thrown out on their back side and the CHANGE that will come about as a result will indeed be AWESOME!!!!! RECALLS are in the works at this very moment. Get used to it.

Tommy….go somewhere else, we support unions and Gov. Walker is making a great case for the unions. Couldn’t ask for a better guy. We union people know how to stick together . you are all by your lonesome…..bye..bye….tommy guy

      1. tommy4bush on 30.03.2011 at 10:11 (Reply)

Yeah, you are making a great case for unions!! You should really come out of your shell now! Your thuggery, threatening people who don’t go along with your scam. I really hate to tell you this. But its not working :) Did you see the election results back in Nov. ? must have missed them. The one on April 5th will be a repeat! Are you guys going to be handing out cigerretes for votes? or are you going to be slashing tires? or are you going to go whine and spend a month in Ill. Rember vote often :)

        1. Coal Miner\'s Daughter on 31.03.2011 at 10:34 (Reply)

I don’t know why I bother to acknowledge an idiot with such a low view of other people, however I must answer your asinine comment about union thuggery and threatening other people when they don’t go along with your scam. My My how soon you forget about all the thuggery and threatening the Tea Party and Republicans did during the last election campaign. Seems I remember national tv stations showed during a Rand Paul rally a clip of a woman being thrown down, punched and kicked by his supporters just because she carried a sign they did not agree with. Who are the thugs here? They also aired clips of Republican candidates threatening newspaper reporters with beating and even death and going so far as to lock them in handcuffs in rooms because they tried to ask them questions they did not want to answer or to correct a lie they had been caught telling. I think you have got your Tea Partry, Republicans and the Unions mixed up. Wonder how much your lazy A– has benefited from what the union has fought for over the years? Yea, I bet that would be very interesting to know. As far as the last election You really won all those seats by either thievery or default. Only a very low 40% voted. Most Democratic voters stayed home. You see we have principles we don’t vote for someone just because they have a “D” after their name. Voters are mad enough now that I think you are going to see a very different outcome. Hang on to your pants because you are about to see most of the Republican Governors and Legislatures recalled. Just because you Republicans seem to think the laws of this land apply to everyone but you doesn’t make it so or change the law. As for the “commie” in the white house, seems you also have your Presidents mixed up. The former man to occupy the white house was not duly elected but was appointed by the Supreme Court so as far as I can see he unlawfully occupied it for 8 years. During the time he was in there he tried to take away every freedom the American people were entitled to with his Patriot Act. You must be from the South since you are so anti-union and you couldn’t resist inserting the word black into your comment. Why don’t all of you just admit that the color of our President (yes he is YOUR President he WAS elected) is your main problem?

tommy4bush- please turn on your spell/grammar check on your computer. It is pretty evident you did not benefit from our state’s public education system, which is probably why you are not supporting our public education system.

Isn’t it funny how a Republcan supporter doesn’t mind how tax money is spent or wasted if it is being spent and wasted by the Republican’s? How are the “facts” being misrepresented? The only misrepresented facts are coming from Republican backers who can’t stand the fact that they are losing! Ohhhh hope and change is awesome!!!

Time for a fact finding commission and a recall in my humble opinion.

Honestly, I cannot understand why Walker or any other state official does not begin routine use of the technology we have at hand.
There are hundreds of ways to communicate with others without being in the same room. Why haven’t they figured this out?
The federal gov’t could benefit from this as well. This would also help save on fossil fuel depletion.
Having said that, Mr. Walker appears to have his priorities a bit mixed, doesn’t he?
    Go Union, buy American!

I live in Texas and totally support all of the government workers in Wisconsin. My late father was a member of IBEW and joined after serving in WWII. Just wanted you to know that others in this country are 100% behind you and the principles you stand for.

The person who asked if the obnoxious individual were a union member has it straight on the head. Somehow people like that should be prevented from posting on this comment section.

I am a 50+ retired IBEW member and proud of it. My wife is a 50+ retired NEA member and proud of it. Let’s keep this posting for union members not blustering, union-busting individuals who will never, ever acknowledge the benefits they have received from unions.

We don’t teach the labor movement in public schools. Textbooks are amazinginly silent on the efforts of organized labor or even unorganized labor. We don’t read about Samuel Gompers or George L Lewis. We don’t read about the brave railroad men who lost limbs and lives before organized labor managed to get safety laws enacted. Laws, which more and more are being ignored in favor of a relative few making megabucks off the backs of the workers.

My major complaint with the AFL/CIO is their support of illegal aliens who not only take jobs away from Americans, but who are a major element and always have been in keeping wages low to lower. The union bosses just like the Republican hierarchy do not seem to understand the word “illegal” in illegal aliens. Let’s help them get a dictionary and spellchecker to find out what the prefix “il” means!
