Strange Sound from Millionaires: ‘Tax Me’

by Mike Hall, Jun 7, 2011

It’s the 10th anniversary of the Bush tax cut for millionaires, and some millionaires say enough is enough. They’ve bought enough boats, added enough wings to their mansions and put enough of their extra millions in the bank. It’s time to “Tax me” they say.

A new video from the Patriotic Millionaires, the group of software designers, movie makers, financial gurus and entrepreneurs, urges Republican House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other lawmakers to end the Bush tax cuts and raise their taxes.

Ten years ago you made a mistake. You decided our country needed less money, and millionaires like me needed more…Less money for roads to transport our products, for high speed Internet to build our technology companies, or science research, education, for universities, and research to spark our innovation… Rich people are not the cause of a robust economy they’re the result of a robust economy…Fix the mistake you made. Tax me, because my country, our country, means more than my money.

On a conference call with reporters yesterday, several of the millionaires featured in the video told reporters what they did with those extra millions. Dennis Mehiel, CEO of   U.S. Corrugated, Inc. said his extras didn’t create any jobs–in the United States.

I got a bigger boat than I used to have.  The problem is it was built in Italy.

Paul Egerman said the Bush tax cuts put a more than $10 million in his big piggy bank and he kept most of it and it’s more than likely the rest of the nation’s nearly 400,000 millionaires did the same with their personal windfalls. The tax cuts didn’t create jobs and just added to the deficit.

One way to solve our [deficit] problem right now is to increase the revenues. One way is to eliminate the ridiculous Bush tax cuts on wealthy people like me…. If our country is really broke, then we can’t afford to give tax cuts to people like me.

    This is actually nothing new.

When the rational millionaires in this group realized that Barack O’Bam-ya is not really a Democrat but is a member of The Establishment, their faith that perhaps the Democrats would right the wrongs of the Bush and Bush and Reagan administrations fell apart.

They have been campaigning to have FAIR taxation by eliminating the absurdly unjust tax privileges of the blatantly rich (which means those with more than just a mere few hundreds of millions in net worth).

President William Clinton was most likely helped to be elected by the RepuGnicans because as a known playboy, the RepuGnicans falsely thought they had a great scape-goat President to crucify after Richard Nixion, Gerald Ford, and George H. W. Bush violated major US federal laws and international war crimes (who helped Saddam Hussein to power? Ronald Reagan sent our CIA to Iraq to help him! Who invited Osama Bin Ladin to Afghanistan because his family has been close friends with the Bush’s — well you can guess, as his middle initials are H.W.) But what really got William Clinton into trouble was that he cleared our national debt to zero which denied the super wealthy of their tax-exempt Treasury bonds and notes. The first thing that Goering Warcrimes Bush did was to immediately put our nation into deep debt to satisfy the greedy super-wealthy, who wanted restoration of the tax-exempt bonds and notes. But that debt went “ballistic” with the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, with their under-the-table Congressionally un-approved (i.e. illegal) war fudning of those two internationally illegal wars, which is why we are having the financial “crisis” that is draining the states’ and federal treasuries in our nation.

The only way to pay for our debt now is to tax everyone fairly and to make illegal the starting of wars that are in violation of international laws.

This is what the wealthy honest millionaires are advocating, and for the first time in our history, bring our nation into morality and end our chronic injustices.

Only true Democracy can save us, but The establishment and the wealthuy do not want that, because it is not profitable to THEM.

First thing we do is end the “Dividend Income”, 15% tax rate for the ultra rich. fair would be if we all got the same tax breaks. But, it’s not realistic. If 40% of my pay check goes to all taxes, so does the Wall Street Big Boys taxes. Then we can talk fair tax breaks.

A Well written piece of garbage, with just enough truth to sound right. Truth in the idea that a fairtax for all is the right idea, as is the idea of making illegal the starting of wars in violation of international laws, ( a bit repetitive,) but where Obama proves his creds for democracy are the bills to stop giving tax breaks to companies that export jobs, and the companies that import goods. These companies are also, blantently under the protection of the Republican leadership and base. Where my major disagreement with Fidels is that the only way that we are going to get out of debt is to have more good paying jobs. The only way to force this on the corporate structure is to strengten the unions. The unions have become a necessity because of the greed of the corporate interests, and while Obama did not go to say Wiscaon, like he said he would, he certainally did not use or try to use government money to stop the working class as Bush wanted to do during the strikes that occured during his time at the helm. With the bills Obama pushed and some got through good paying working class jobs have been added to the economy, and been taxed accordingly. But the Republican leaders have fought them all the way. The stimulas to upgrade the infastruture has created untold jobs, but even then the republicans have fought to keep those jobs at low wages. This in itself is a problem, paying union wage in an area that the workers don’t actually live in, promotes local business not just in food and lodging, but the end product makes business more viable, but if you allow the anti-union; anti-prebvailing wage group to run the system, you only have local, mostly untrained, and usually not enough bodies to do the job. Part of Obama’s stimulas was to insure that wages were paid that were worth the time and the job. That does not make him a memeber of the establishment. And the reason things LOOK like and could fall apart is because of anti-black, and anti-democracy ideas of the right.

Well I will not address your bias, rit team bro, but let me ask you this? HOW DO YOU STRENGTHEN OUR UNIONS WHEN THE ESTABLISHMENT HIRES THE EMPLOYEES AND CAN INFILTRATE ANY UNION (AS THEY HAVE DONE SINCE THE 1960S) AND PUSH IN VERY QUALIFIED INFILTRATORS TO THE UNION LEADERSHIP WHEN THE RANK-AND-FILE UNION MEMBERS DO NOT HAVE ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP QUALITIES???? It is like taking suckers from babies to infiltrate and sabotage unions, as is the case today!

And wake up! Obama is NOT a Democrat, he is a member of The Establishment! You need to look at the people he hires to work under him and look at the legislation Obama has signed that George W. Bush did not have time to sign!

Quit being subverted by the song-and-dance dog-and-poney show going on with the Obama administration, We the people have a huge task in even attempting to institute Democracy in our political system! You have to look under the table at what Obama is REALLY doing to see that he is a liaar! Like that phony “health care” program Obama has set up that will only take effect after he is out of office, when it can be vetoed by a RepuGnican member of The Establishment! Meanwhile, the Hawaiian Universal Health Care System that was proposed to Congress for a national health care system in 1993 was OUTLAWED by Congress in the same year! Why? Because GENUINE Universal Health Care is unprofitable to The Establishment due to the fact that it really works, unlike Medicare!

So let us get back to taxes. If everyone pays a fair share of taxes without prejudiced elitist tax exemption privileges, and we end these illegal wars that we START and concentrate instead on diplomacy that teaches peace and FAIR enterprise through LOCAL commerce (not Globalized tyranny) that employs honest world trade, then those multi-millionaires’ quest will have been justified. Those few patriotic millionaires understand that if we continue to strangle the “goose who laid the golden egg”, as the corrupt commercial and investment groups are trying to do, that then nobody will have a thriving economy to invest in, and the tax system is the primary regulator to how we manage our nation’s financial and economic stability!

      That is the bottom line!

Kudos to that small group of patriotic millionaires who do not want to suck from the “gravy train” back door that only the privileged elite get to exploit, like leeches sucking the life-blood out of our economy but not paying their due because of immoral tax breaks.

I would question which legislation that Obama signed into law for the shrub. And you are right that there is SOME infused establishment in most unions, yet the Unions still exist, as show by the very blog we are on. Granted they are not as strong as they were and we are not getting the benefits that should be awarded to the working class, but this was brought down on us, by the very thing you speak, the ex-union president Ronald Reagan. Oh if it were the days when Jimmy Hoffa said that he would shut down the country, if things didn’t change, but the Republican lies keep people not realizing the peril we are in. If by some reason that you are, or were a Union member and you did not get the benefits,or you believed, as you say that it was infiltrated by establishment, why did you not go to the regional to voice your grievence. Or did you belong to a company union instead, if that were the case, then your only excuse was ignorance, which is excusable in that case. Now to your charge to Obama being part of said establishment, in some ways all of us are. With that being said, legislation going on right now with Obama trying to get through the Consumer Protection bill shows again that he is not following the establishment, the Health Care bill, while no where close to what we really need, he fought an uphill pro establishment corporate funded Republican party, got as much as he did. there is no ligetament argument that we should not have one payer health care, but he got something, I am actually a beneficiary of that. Obama knows that if he overreaches the central policies of this country to the left he will get nothing. Why because the left IS more moral then the right, the left believes in fairness, while the right is Plutocratic Nationalist. in other words {all for the rich and the rich should only be allowed to run the country no matter how bad they do it.} Example Wisconsin, barganing rights for cops in particular, Example 2 Maine Killing Child labor laws, Example 3 Paul Ryan bill, killing medicare, and the big one The constant push to kill Social Security, this one I realy have a quest on, Sharon Angle claimed that killing social Security would creat jobs in Nevada, Thirty percent of Nevada major economic resource is supported by recipients of Social Security. The only reason any of these necessities are on the bargining table is simply to force the republicans to come to the table, not to give an inch but if Obama doesn’t say they are there then the Republicans will shut down the country , the reason is that they actually want to make it a third world country for the likes of the Koch Brothers, Bank of America, Adloph Coors great great grand son.

What is this nonsense about fair taxes for everyone? What planet are you people from? Taxes should be derived from financial transactions not from people! Wages should not be taxed! Is it that difficult to understand the concept of taxing financial transactions? When money makes money tax that. Where there are piles of money, tax that. Derivatives and other financial instruments tax that. Capitol gains tax that. Windfall profits, tax that. Record profits tax that. Inheritance, tax that. Wages earned from sweat and blood leave that alone. Now you’re talking fair taxes!

Hold on 1st Cav (and I am a veteran from CSC, 1st Bn 8th Cav Reg 1st Cavalry Division (airmobile).

We refer to “everyone” as meaning there needs to be an unbiased taxation system regardless of economic status, and I advocate in addition that ANYONE EARNING A POVERTY ANNUAL INCOME BE TAX-EXEMPT!!!!

The means of a process for making everyone be taxed fairly regardless of income level, which is a tough one to sort out, but several ideas have been discussed over the past decade and a half, and honest evaluations refer to the Value Added Tax system as being a threat to lower-income people’s standard of living, which it is.

Now, discussing how ORGANIZATIONS (what we ignorantly refer to generally as meaning “corporations”, but that leaves out billionaire operators of hedge funds), they also need to be taxed fairly, to be sure. But in the present system, the commercial entities can just pass down their tax liabilities to consumers by raising prices. While employee income has steadily declined since Ronald Ray-gunz’ term of office, large-size commercial income has dramatically increased while family-owned farms and family-owned commercial businesses have suffered greatly!

So that is the meaning of what we are saying.

Let me make a correction on what I previously said:

persons earning poverty annual wages should have tax-exempt employment taxes, BUT employers should still be required to pay their share of employment taxes based upon their employees’ wages without exemption.

FURTHER, there should be NO difference between government benefits of full-time employees and part-time employees, nor of contractor labor. If a person works part-time, they should still be eligible for unemployment and health benefits at the pro-rata of their employment. IF a person works at 60% of full time wages, then the benefits should be 60% eligible, so that another United Parcel Service change from full-time to part-time employment to save on employment taxes does not happen. This will end the exploitation of workers by classifying them as “part time” employees who “do not deserve” the benefits afforded to full-time employees.
