‘Union Maid’ Makes Rose Parade Appearance

You can’t scare the Pulaski (Wis.) High School marching band—they’re sticking with the union.
In the middle of Monday’s Rose Bowl Parade, marching band members launched into a spirited rendition of Woody Guthrie’s workers’ anthem “Union Maid.”
Was this a jab at Gov. Scott Walker’s 2011 attack on public employees and drastic cuts to the state school budgets? As the blog Blue Cheddar points out:
Funding for Wisconsin’s public schools has been drastically cut this year under Gov. Scott Walker and the Republican legislature. Teachers’ unions and other public employee unions had their collective bargaining and other rights repealed earlier this year despite massive protests against the changes in Wisconsin.
After AnnieJo at Daily Kos blogged about the “Union Maid” break out, the band director denied any political motives behind the song he says he knew as a polka tune called “Red Wing.” A serendipitous choice.

I think all Americans need to stand up and make it clear to everyone we know that the Republican Party is paid by BIG business to demote this country to child labor laws, no unions, no education except for the wealthy and whatever else they may think of doing to drop our wages to that of third world countries.
Since Regan and Clinton opened up our laws about shipping our jobs overseas to third world countries to get the cheapest labor on the planet, we have seen all the signs of our country becoming a third world country. DON’T VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS – KEEP THEM OUT OF “THE PEOPLE’S LAWMAKING”!
Let the Supreme Court know that “the majority of Americans” don’t believe Corporations are “people.” Imagine a SUPREME COURT JUDGE RULING SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS AND OBVIOUSLY POLITICAL DECISION? SUPREME COURT JUDGES – UNBELIEVABLE. Write letters, get involved now before it is too late.
Obama got most of his money from big business. He will have at least a billion dollars to run his campaign helped by people on Wall Street. The democrats are running the white House and the Senate. When they had complete control for two years they did very little. The people stopping the left agenda are really democrats.

Do you know that you cannot get anything done under a democratic president or congress unless you have 61 votes in the Senate on your side. Yeah, I know it’s 60 but we had traitor nelson with us for the last 12 years. Having a majority in the Senate is not control. It merely means that if you do get cloture on a bill, you will most likely pass it. Hey NUTJOB, take a course in civics.
