Wild Hog Hunt Launches New Season for ‘Brotherhood Outdoors’
![]() |
“Brotherhood Outdoors,” the unique hunting and fishing television series of the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA), kicks off its second season Thursday night on the Sportsman Channel, with Indiana Ironworkers member Jessica Reagor on a California wild hog hunt.
Hosted by noted outdoorsman Tom Ackerman, “Brotherhood Outdoors” puts union workers in the spotlight, taking viewers into their homes and communities, on their job sites and into the wilderness for exciting hunting and fishing adventures across North America. Guests on the series have the opportunity to join Ackerman for an outfitted North American adventure or to act as his guide, taking him to their favorite hunting or fishing locations.
The series airs on Thursday at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. EST and this season’s guests include a mix of pipe fitters, boilermakers, electrical workers, bricklayers and others who pursue a variety of fish and game throughout the United States and Canada.
Reagor, who began hunting as young girl, hadn’t been in the field for the past two years because she and her husband adopted a special needs 14-day-old boy in 2009. For more on Reagor by USA’s Ken Barrett, click here. For a video preview and photos from the hunt, click here and here.

I normally do not endorse these wildlife massacres for fun, such as is the case even with wild life preserves set-up by hunting and fishing organizations. The animals are grossly out-numbered by the modern hordes of hunters and fishers.
However, when it comes to the dangerous and aggressive species called “wild pigs” “wild boars” and so forth, I can side with the hunters on this, due to human irresponsibility these animals have become a menace, and I say go-get ‘em, but shoot them humanely if you can, which is not always able to be done due to the dangerous nature of these animals. I really think the wild boar is more dangerous than is a bear.
From the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources:
Feral pigs (Sus scrofa), also known as wild pigs, wild hogs, wild boars, European wild boars, Russian wild boars, or razorbacks, are rangy-looking non-native members of the domestic swine family, Suidae. These transplants native to Europe and Asia are aggressive mammals posing serious ecological, economic, aesthetic, medical and veterinary threats.”
Unfortunately, all wildlife have a general right to life, but humans are the ones who brought these animals to our continent and now they have gone “hog wild” repopulating and are very dangerous because of human irresponsibility. So the hunters themselves need to be careful, VERY careful!
Down here in Eastern North Carolina where I live there is are too many deer in this area. One or more is hit by a car every night according to the sheriff’s office. Wild deer have attacked little old ladies checking their mail boxes for their Social Security checks. Wild deer are not little Bambies. I advise anyone not to travel into the Eastern Coastal counties in North Carolina without a big-caliber gun on you because of wild-big-black bears lerking along the roads at night, your car could break down on you. Watch out for them wildcats too. Oh yea, snakes are terrible out their too.
“all wildlife have a general right to life”
What about humans? We kill millions of them before they are born. We killed thousands of them in Libya in order to kill one man.
Most hunters kill wildlife for food, not fun.
